Getting started

Cat Growth is a family habit chart for parents and children. The current app interface is in Simplified Chinese.

Install the beta

Open the TestFlight invitation on your iPhone or iPad and follow Apple’s instructions. External testing requires Apple approval; installation and available places depend on the TestFlight page. There is no public Android download at present.

Make your first chart

Add a family member using a nickname. Begin with the 12 default habits, or add your own. Long-press a habit heading to change its picture, name, scheduled days or star value. Default daily habits cover the whole week, including days before a midweek reset.

Switch weeks with the arrows. An empty historical week can inherit your current chart so you can record earlier days; completed check-ins and stars are not copied. Each family member has separate check-ins and stars while sharing the habit list.

Check in and keep photos

Tap a scheduled day’s cell. Record independent completion, completion with help, or continued practice. You can undo a record. Add up to 9 photos by taking several pictures or selecting from your album. Tap a thumbnail to see the full image, move between images or remove one. Tap the close button or the empty area outside a dialog to dismiss it.

Choose a wish

Open 奖励屋 (Rewards), add a wish and set its star goal. Select a picture if you like. Earn stars through check-ins, redeem a reward when you have enough, then confirm when it has been given. The weekly review and seven-day family challenge help you look back together.

Move or protect your records

In 设置 (Settings), enter each member’s previously earned and redeemed stars under 历史累计 (Previous totals). These change the balance without adding fictional check-ins to weekly statistics.

Export a JSON family backup before changing devices or uninstalling. It includes saved photos. Import only a backup you trust. Under project management, create a project backup or reset to defaults. Reset requires confirmation and saves a backup first; the latest 10 project backups can be restored. Project backups cover project settings, while a full JSON backup carries family records and photos.

Optional iCloud sync on iOS stores the family file in your own iCloud Drive. Enable iCloud Drive in the system first. Turning it off retains local records and existing cloud files. Simultaneous changes on different devices are not automatically merged; a conflict stops overwriting and asks you to resolve it.

Show the chart on a TV

Use your phone or iPad’s system screen mirroring with a compatible TV or receiver. The app’s full-screen mode provides more room for the chart. The app does not contain an independent AirPlay, Google Cast or DLNA sender.
